BEAR BROOK BLAST-OFF

NECS #2  race for a smile

SUNDAY

MAY 31, 2009

With varied terrain and miles of single track, Bear Brook State Park in Allenstown, New Hampshire is a prime mountain biking destination.  It’s also a great place for a mountain bike race.   The Blast-Off will have something for everyone -  lots of fantastic single track to test your skills, plus fast double track and roads for letting it rip.   Due to course conditions, the venue IS NOW A LAP COURSE.  A good portion of the course will look the same with some new surprises.  Novice/ Open short course racers will do one 14-mile lap; Sport/ Expert/ Cruiser Course racers will do two laps for approximately 25 miles.  Elites will do two or laps depending on weather, course conditions and racer inclination.

Forty miles of trails through the heavily forested park, leading to seldom visited marshes, bogs, summits and ponds, offer a variety of options for hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians.
